The TP-Link Easy Setup Assistant Utility is a legacy configuration software designed for the TP-Link TD-W8950ND 150Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router. It provides a step-by-step graphical wizard to help you hook up the physical hardware wires, configure ADSL internet settings, and secure your Wi-Fi network without logging directly into a web browser.
However, since this software utility was built exclusively for older Windows operating systems and originally distributed via an in-box Resource CD, using the modern built-in web browser method is highly recommended. Downloading the Utility & Documentation

Before starting, make sure you have the internet account specifications (PPPoE/PPPoA username, password, and VPI/VCI numbers) provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Step 1: Run the Program — Insert the TP-Link Resource CD into your computer’s disk drive, or open the utility application (.exe) you downloaded from the TP-Link Support Portal.
Step 2: Choose Your Device Model — Select TD-W8950ND from the list on screen and click Start Setup.
Step 3: Connect the Hardware — Follow the animated on-screen prompts to connect your phone line to the ADSL splitter, plug an Ethernet cable from the router’s LAN port to your PC, and turn the power switch on. Click Next once the lights stabilize.
Step 4: Configure ISP Info — Choose your region and ISP from the drop-down list. If your provider isn’t listed, choose “Other” and enter your specific connection type (usually PPPoE), along with your VPI/VCI values.
Step 5: Create a Wi-Fi Password — Type in a custom name (SSID) for your wireless network, pick a security type (WPA2-PSK is recommended), and write down a security key of at least 8 characters.
Step 6: Finish and Confirm — Review your settings summary, click Next to save changes directly to the modem router, and wait for the tool to test your live internet connection. Alternative Method: Web Browser Quick Setup
